How the comparison works
The EV cost is based on annual mileage, consumption in kWh/100km, charging efficiency, and your home/public electricity split. Fuel cost uses the UK imperial gallon conversion: 1 UK gallon equals 4.54609 litres.
With the defaults, EV cost per mile is about 7.9p and petrol cost per mile is about 16.5p. At 7,500 miles, that gives an illustrative annual saving of £640.43.
